Position Title: Receptionist

Length of Employment: The initial contract is for one-year (dependent upon successful completion of a 3 months’ probation period) renewable on satisfactory performance of duties and exigencies of duty.

START DATE: IMMEDIATE

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Serving as the Main Receptionist / Switch Board Operator, the candidate will be handling the following tasks:

  • Screening, greet and welcome visitors entering the Mission,
  • Handling calls by answering, screening and directing to the right offices,
  • Take and convey messages,
  • Provide information to callers,
  • Deals with queries from the public as appropriate,
  • Receive and transmit mail to respective offices.
  • Tidy and maintain the reception area,
  • Any other duties as may be assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  1. General Requirements

Possess documents to demonstrate or show proof that one is legally staying and able to work in South Africa. 

  • Education

A Diploma in Front Office Management   or / and Customer Care, computer literacy.

  • Experience:  Two years in Customer care is required.
  • Language:  English and Kiswahili proficiency is required (Fluent in both oral and Written). Knowledge of another language is an added advantage.
  • Skills and Abilities: Customer care skills, computer skills, run the switchboard and handle conflicting demands is required, interpersonal/Communication Skills.
  • Job Knowledge: Knowledge of clerical procedures and correspondence styles.
  • Police Clearance Certificate
